In his first season with Arizona, Coach Duffy helped lead the Wildcats to the D1-AA National Championship game, the first national title game in program history and helped them earn promotion to Division 1A. Since their promotion, Arizona has reached the playoffs each of the past ten seasons, including a run to the Final Four in 2017 and national quarterfinal appearances in 2016 and 2019. The Wildcats have also had success in Sevens, winning the program's first ever conference Sevens championship in 2017 and reaching the Cup Semifinal of the Collegiate Rugby Championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018. Off the field, the Wildcats have achieved milestones including a $1 million gift to the program in February 2023 and the subsequent addition of Rugby scholarships and a private team training center.
Arizona has also brought back the tradition of touring overseas, traveling to Argentina in Spring 2018. In addition, Coach Duffy has helped start a new chapter in Tucson, opening William David Sitton Field, their brand new Rugby stadium in March 2014. Coach Duffy also serves as a scout for Eagle Impact Rugby Academy (EIRA), coaching overseas and domestically at the age grade level.
Coach Duffy joined the Wildcats following a successful playing and coaching career at Saint Joseph's University, and holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Criminal Justice from the university. In addition, he has worked for USA Rugby and Play Rugby USA in a Rugby development role.
